I was really sorry to hear that Willie had died, he seemed to have been around for ever. I thought you might be interested in these photos.

In 2012 we went up the Llangollen canal to Trevor to see the hand over of the olympic torch. Willie, who was involved with ex-working boats, was one of a team of six who pulled the boat ‘Saturn’ over the Pontcysyllte aqueduct (or at least part was over) while the Fron male voice choir sang “We’ll Keep a Welcome in the Hillside” and the torch was handed over. Quite an occasion.
