Welcome to North Cheshire Cruising Club

The North Cheshire Cruising Club is located on the High Lane Arm of the Macclesfield Canal, widely regarded as one of England’s most scenic waterways.

The Club was established in 1943 by a group of boaters who sought to present a united front against a proposal by the local council to impose rates on boathouses. Although their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful, their initiative led to the creation of what is believed to be the first cruising club on England’s narrow canal system.
