Unfortunately our teams have been delayed with other emergency works and continue developing a method of repair to the damaged bridge panels.

Our teams will be onsite from next week and an update will be provided on or before Thursday, 18 September.

The towpath over Bridge 71, Porters Footbridge, on the Macclesfield Canal is currently closed to all users due to damage to the bridge panels.

Our team is aware of the issue, and a repair method is being organised.

We will provide a further update on or before Thursday 4 September.
